What kind of data does FarmTrace collect from my farm?
We collect data relative to milk production, milk analysis, feed, health, fertility. This data is generated by software used on the farm such as milking robots, farm management software, etc.
How does giving access to my farm data benefit me?
Granting FarmTrace access to your farm data enables the companies you work with to provide better services. For example, Representatives for your farm can better prepare their visit and make data-driven decisions to address the challenges specific to your farm. They can access the data anywhere, anytime so you don’t need to share it manually. Working with FarmTrace means making the most out of your data and getting the best advice from your suppliers.
What does FarmTrace do with the data I provide?
We collect data from farms and run it through our Platform to standardize it and make it available to our partners via our API. Only partners you have authorized can access your data.
We work with companies such as feed suppliers, veterinarians, animal health specialists, etc. Together, we aim to help you make data-driven decisions through tailored advice specific to the needs of your farm and animals.
Where does FarmTrace get information about me and my farm?
FarmTrace will always contact you on behalf of our partners. Our partners provide us with the basic information of farms that they would like to connect to. This information includes the farmer’s contact information (name, email, address, telephone number) and company information. You can review and update your details through our Farm Connection questionnaire, which you will receive a link to by email.
What if I change my mind and want to stop sending data to FarmTrace?
If you no longer want to share your data with a specific partner, or want to stop sharing your data completely, please send us an email to helpdesk@farmtrace.com. We will stop collecting the data as soon as your request is processed according to GDPR.
How do I know when FarmTrace has started processing my data?
You will receive an email informing you that your farm data is now being processed by the FarmTrace Platform.
Will FarmTrace sell my data?
No, we do not sell your data to third parties. Only partners that you have provided authorization for can access your farm data.

FarmTrace Connect installation
Why do I need to install the FarmTrace Connect application?
The FarmTrace Connect application is required to collect data from your farm systems. This is why it is important that you install this application on any computer connected to the systems on your farm, for example milking robots and farm management systems. Once installed, you do not need to do anything else.
Please note that FarmTrace Connect should be installed on the computer where the full software is running, not the device on which the mobile/tablet application has been installed. For example, if you have Lely Horizon please install it on the computer where the full Horizon program is running (not on the mobile phone or tablet where the connected app has been installed).
Is my computer compatible with the Farmtrace Connect application?
You need a computer with Windows version 10 and higher. If your operating system is older than Windows 10, please upgrade it to a more recent version.
To download the FarmTrace Connect application, please make sure that you open the download link in Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer browser. You can always copy the url and paste it into the right browser.
How do I install the FarmTrace Connect application?
1. Download the FarmTrace Connect installer by clicking on the link sent to you by email. Make sure the link is opened in one of the following browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer browser.
Please note that FarmTrace Connect should be installed on the computer where the full software is running, not the device on which the mobile/tablet application has been installed. For example, if you have Lely Horizon please install it on the computer where the full Horizon program is running (not on the mobile phone or tablet where the connected app has been installed).
2. Find the FarmTrace Connect file in your download folder. It should have the name "farmtrace-connect_installer".
3. Double-click on the file. This should start the installation and a window will open asking you to give permission to the application. Click on "YES".
4. Select your preferred language and click "OK".
5. Review and agree to the License Agreement by selecting "I accept the agreement" and clicking "Next".
6. FarmTrace Connect requires .Net runtime to be installed in order to work. If you do not yet have it installed, the application will automatically install it. Simply click "Next".
7. The installer will ask for your confirmation to continue. Click "Yes".
8. Wait while FarmTrace Connect installs its required components.
9. Enter your activation code and click "Next".
This code has been sent to you in the same email as the installation link. We recommend that you copy/paste the code rather than typing it in to avoid errors. If the code is incorrect, a message will appear.
10. FarmTrace Connect is now ready to install. Click "Install" and wait for the application to be installed.
11. The installation is complete, click "Finish".
12. Repeat this step for each computer connected to your farm systems (milking robots, farm management software, etc).
What if I cannot access my emails on my farm computer?
If you cannot access your emails via the computer connected to your farm systems, please follow these steps:
1. Download the FarmTrace Connect application on a computer where you can access your emails. The download link is included in the installation email.
2. Transfer the downloaded file to a USB stick: plug in the stick, open the folder where the file has been downloaded and copy the file.

3. Open the USB storage folder (File explorer > My PC > USB folder) and paste the file. Unplug the USB stick.
4. Plug the USB stick into your farm computer.
5. Copy the file from the USB key and paste it to your farm computer
6. Open the Farm Trace Connect file and installation will start.
How do I uninstall the FarmTrace Connect application?
Do you want to remove FarmTrace Connect and stop sending data? You can easily do so by following these steps on the computer you previously installed the application on:
1. Open the File Explorer
2. Go to "This PC" and click on "Windows (C:)"
3. Open the Program files (x86) folder
4. Find and open the FarmTrace Connect folder
5. Double-click on the "unins000" file. This will trigger the uninstallation process. You may need to allow the software to make changes to your Windows computer.
6. Click "yes" to start uninstalling.
The application is now removed from your computer.
